Influence of a non-isothermal conditions on oscillation characteristics of self-excited jet in a rectangular cavity

Oscillatory flow in a rectangular cavity may occur in the presence of a turbulent jet which flows into the cavity. The numerical simulation was carried out to observe the influence of applying non-isothermal conditions on the frequency and amplitude of oscillations. Furthermore, several changes appeared in the flow pattern, velocity and temperature distribution in the computational domain. Note that three cases were investigated and compared with each other. It is shown that by applying temperature difference equals to 20, the frequency decreased 5 percent and amplitude did not change.
